Not only did our server treat us with respect happiness and warmth, but she waited while we translated the entire menu in german to our guests, and brought us complimentary champaigne because it was the day before our wedding. Excellent Food. Our guests said they would fly back to Canada again next year as long as they got to eat there. exceptional service food and atmosphere. I have returned numerous times and never been dissapointed since.
Just found this site and wanted to vent. On October 27, 2007 my husband and I arrived at our reserved time looking forward to our first experience at Wildcraft. (NOTE: We made reservations five weeks in advance and asked for a nice quiet table as it was our anniversary ) The hostess took us to a bench table in the SPORTS BAR section (big screen TV's everywhere!) We explained that this was not what asked for and asked if she could move us to a more suitable table. The server was quite indifferent and said there was nothing she could do. Basically a 'take it or leave it attitude'. We left and have never been back. Very disappointed. The evening wasn't a total loss as we had a lovely romantic dinner elsewhere in Waterloo.
Fancy place, but too too expensive for what you get. Very bad service (the waitress was not friendly, patient, or respectful at all). I will not go there in the near future! Very nice washroom though.
Wildcraft is a great place for a casual, upscale meal. The basics are great, food is wonderful and service is good. But a comment I must add is that for such an investment in interior decorating, they completely forgot about sound dampening. Every time I'm there eating a meal, its a fair struggle to hear the person beside me. I'm not sure if it is the restaurant or its demographic, but in any event its annoying. In Waterloo (for what is present in the lifeless suburban town that it is), this is a classy restaurant and provides an arena that is "upscale" and enjoyable. For that, any local should be careful in being too much of a critic. As an outsider I do enjoy Wildcraft, with the exception of its noisiness, and will come to it again when I'm in town.
One of the more upscale restaurants in Waterloo. We went there for an anniversary dinner. Very nice decor. Service was very nice, we were greeted at the front and seated right away. The food was very good. Warm Goat Cheese appetizer was very good, I would get that again. And the entrees were nice, a bit small for what you pay, but I guess that is what they are going for. This place is large, the bathrooms downstairs are very nice.
