I cant fault this restaurant, we've been here many times over the last year and the food and service have been consistently good. They hands down have one of the best rack of lamb that I've had in a long time. The restaurant is located just outside Ottawa in Manotick, it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Went without a reservation and we were lucky, as we managed to get the last available table after a 10 minute wait. The waiter was very good - provided us with the right suggestions and recommended the best dishes. Starters and main were very good - proper Italian food meaning simplicity but astonishing taste. We shared 3 starters among the 2 of us and ordered 2 pasta main dishes. The desserts were simply divine. The total bill including wine & coffee and tip was about 125$. For sure a place to return to. Just make sure you have a reservation.
I was introduced to La Piazza by a friend, and went back twice within a week. The food is imaginative, beautifully cooked, and the portions are eminently reasonable. The service is little short of superb. Finally, the prices are reasonable and well below what I would have expected for food of this quality.
We happened upon this restaurant by chance a year ago. The food was amazing and we've been thinking about it ever since then. I was reluctant to go back thinking my memory probably embellished on the experience and/or maybe I was starving when we went -- so everything tastes better. I was wrong. Our 2nd visit lived up to my memory. I ordered the same thing - their Lasagna is wonderful. I had a house red wine with it.. Since we were there for a late lunch, we missed the dinner crowd. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes a casual atmosphere with a little bit of shabby chic charm and romantic setting. I will go back as soon as I can.
Friends & I had been to La Piazza on several ocassions, the food was good nothing to die for, service was great, prices ok, but on a very special evening being Valentines we were very disappointed & made very angry. They ran out of food before we arrived (8:30) there driver was late , didn't tell us about running out of most of the menu when we arrived, the other choices on the set menu were not interesting to us, so a cook had to cut us steak & conjur a meal up for us. The owners never came & discussed any of these problems with us, the owner was walking around drunk offering free bottles of wine to people insulted myself because he asked how the evening was going & I told him I was not impressed, so he stated I was HIGH MAINTENANCE", all at the table became angry, then charged us for the bottles that he said was complimentary. An absolute nightmare. Will never go back
