The main reason we went to the Coach was to see if the food was good enough to book a party there. We ate, the food was pretty good. At the end of the meal we asked the server who we should speak to to book a party. She told me the bartender is the owner. I went over to him and asked about booking a party, He rudely said he'd come over to us. (Like he was doing us a favor), We waited and waited. 15 minutes passed and no owner. He stood behind the bar pretending to be busy. Finally after 20 minutes we left. I understand if you are too busy to discuss it right away, but have the decency to come over and get our # to call us. This was going to be our rehearsal dinner for our wedding. You just missed out on a $1000 party buddy! Way to run your business!!! Lets just say, we will never be returning!

WORST FOOD EXPERIENCE EVER!

We visited this pub last Sunday as we had visitors from out of town and he wanted to visit for nostalgic reasons. We had eaten there in the past over the last 10 years or so and never had a good experience, but periodically were willing to see if they had improved on their culinery skills but to no avail. Last Sunday was the worst experience we ever had. There were six of us and not one of us could eat anything that we ordered and we all ordered different items from the menu. First, the liver was overcooked and like rubber, second, the bangers and mash were cold and the beans were all dried up and over heated from their breakfast, third, the curried lamb was the worst curry ever and have no idea where the chef got that recipe, fourth, the prime rib was covered in the worst gravy out of a tin and the meat was off and tasted terrible, fifth, the lamb sheppards pie was so dried up and even the salad was the worst salad I have ever tasted, lastly, the burger was just awful not one of the six people ate their meals and I can honestly say that I will never eat there again and have finished giving them a chance goodness only knows where they get their chefs from it is the worst pub ever. Even the staff look disgruntled and not very friendly and the service was very slow. The whole place looks like a dive bar and needs a real good cleaning and makeover including the staff.

Absolutely horrible!

My wife and I went for our second meal to this establishment this month. After reading the entry below we thought we'd try it out and had a terrible experience but, everyone deserves a second chance so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and tonight was the night. Wow. I never thought the first meal could be outdone in the category of bad but it was. I would not feed that food to the animal living under my deck! First we were sat near the bar where there were a handful of Brit's who were both loud and rude, openly swearing and making disgusting innuendos to which my wife was already unimpressed. I recognized a few of them from our first visit. One specifically being the large gentleman one of the other entrants had mentioned and as it turns out, he in fact is the owner/operator of the establishment. Unbelievable since he was clearly drunk. He looked like he was using the bar to almost hold himself up. His eyes were glazed over and could have cared less about the racquet that was interrupting mine, and other patrons' experience. Our curly-haired brunette server was clueless and not in the least bit helpful. Especially when the kitchen had clearly messed up our food. Both orders burnt to a crisp and yet ice cold. Despite the kitchen's clear inability to turn out anything edible, we had basically lost our appetite's after getting a glance at both the dreary interior of the place and the bathrooms which i can't even equate to a bathroom stall at union station. Never again will i subject anyone I care about to such a horrible excuse for an establishment. Leave that place for the broken down drunks and the bar stool prophets!

A dud

I used to frequent this place years ago. At that time, if offered simple pub food, but it was quite good for the price. I've visited there twice recently as I have friends who live nearby and we can walk there. Next time, we'll drive somewhere. The first time I ordered fish & chips, and they were so salty they were barely edible. If the service hadn't been so slow, I would have returned them. As it was, I ate it and drank lots of water. The second time, we were trying to get in and out fast. So much for that idea. The waitress took forever to even bring us menus and get an order for drinks. When she did, she was abrupt and not at all friendly. Our beer was long gone when she came to take our order. My friend and I ordered chicken wings and mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. We waited at least 40 minutes. We got the mozzarella sticks and they were stone cold. My wings were lukewarm, and in between them were a bunch of fries that had, I asssume, fallen into the same frier as the wings. Not a good sign of what goes on in the kitchen. As for the ambience, the whole place looks neglected. I know it isn't fine dining, but does the place have to look as though it hasn't been freshened up in 20 years? The carpet by the backdoor is dirtier than my driveway, and the chairs and tables look like something you'd see at the curb on garbage day. Frankly, I just wouldn't bother going her anymore.

Monday Night at the C&F

Strolled into the C&F at 8:15 on a Monday evening. The place was empty. We sat at a table toward Lakeshore. The bench seats are not attached...so when I leaned forward the whole seat came up. The bench seat is about 3.5 meters long...so it is a big seat. I checked the seat next to us and it was the same way. I guess if there are other guests seated then it wouldn't be a problem...since everybody would have to lean forward at the same time. Service was prompt. The server brought us a couple of drafts with coasters. We realized that the server did not provide napkins when my wife bumped the table and spilled a bit of beer on the table. I had the Vodoo Chicken Wrap and replaced the soup with a Caesar Salad for an extra $1.29. The wife had the Shepards Pie with a house salad. Food and salads arrived 15 minutes after placing the order. The salads were in what appeared to be soup bowls. The bowls were about 11 cm in diameter and about 8 deep. I was expecting the salads to be served before the entree on a salad plate. The wrap was excellent. The shepards pie was a bit on the salty side. Portion size was moderate. The salads were very small but good. All-in-all a adequate experience....nothing super great...nothing too terrible...except for the moving bench seats. Next time we will sit at a table with chairs.
