I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit! And the patio? I have been to Jamaica several times on business and vacation but whenever i return home to Montreal and get the urge to taste Jamaican cuisine I could never find a place where me and my friends felt comfortable . Well my search is over I have found my tropical paradise here in Montreal ; it is very tastefully decorated , has a great staff providing excellent service and the food is amazing and guess what you can bring your own wine or beer so it is also very economical for an evening out . There is an outdoor terrace which i plan to utilise during the upcoming summer. I went as a group of four and we all had a great time ! Read more
