Never was a fan of sushi and we came to this restaurant for a friend's b-day.
Asked for rice paper over the sea-weed (uugh), they didn't have rice paper but they had soy paper... went for it. It was amazing, the soy paper changes the taste completely - no more slight taste of the ocean!!
Overall a great restaurant, and would recommend to anyone - it's also a bring your own wine so that's also nice
Although you might not think of it, of course you can also bring your own wine or saké to a Japanese restaurant. Fusion cuisine, sushi, maki and sashimi are featured on the menu, to be accompanied by miso soup, wakame salad or appetizers like dumplings or crab tempura. The dining room, decorated with neutral colours, offers a zen atmosphere with welcoming staff. Yuukai is open seven days a week, starting at 5 pm.
Want to try a little Japanese fusion cuisine? Yuukai on du Parc Avenue offers sushi, sashimi and other dishes in an atmosphere that is both friendly and very zen. Specialties include fried noodles with seafood, chicken or vegetables, all of which will go nicely with a bottle of wine you bring along.
