We've tried this restaurant a few times; each time hoping the previous visit was just an off day. The food is adequate, nothing special but the service is terrible!
On one visit the staff took us to a table that was shoved away sort of by itself in a bit of an alcove. We were not happy with this table and asked to be moved to another one. The staff person was not happy about this but finally did "allow" us to be seated at another table. The restaurant was empty, we were the only diners and it was NOT rush hour so what was the problem? During our time there not another customer came in.
On another visit the staff person directed us to a table, a very small table. It was a bit uncomfortable, being so small it could not accommodate our arms (but I noticed that it had leaves which could be lifted up in order to make it bigger so I lifted them up. The waitress came around and angrily dropped them down. We were so shocked ! Once it computed what she had done we left without ordering or eating. We couldn't understand why this should bother her so much. It did not obstruct her path in any way and the restaurant again was empty sans us.
The place has been up for sale for a few years and seldom open. Recently there has been a big white sign on the front that indicates they serve breakfast, lunch and .... I couldn't read the rest. However I doubt if we'll try it again, especially if it's run by the same owners (must find out if that is so)>
a suitable place to "lunch with the girls"
It's hard to find a suitable place to have lunch with a friend in Wasaga. Most are "family", run of the mill spots. Goodies is the ideal eatery to meet, take your time over a salad, quesadilla, or whatever strikes your fancy and just chat. No one rushes you and the food is great. It's a little gem on Mosley!
If you want a taste of good o'l down home Louisiana cooking you will have to try Goodies.
The food is served hot and everything on the plate is is measured to perfection.
Once again we have enjoyed a fantastic meal. The place was packed but the service was still incredibly friendly and fast. Our friends both had the filet and said it was the best they've had in ages. The duck was to die for and the fresh pickerel was out of this world. Would have like just a few more croutons on the caesar salad but that's just a personal thing. The desserts here are just plain decadent, definately a must.
