Definitely a five out of five. The poor reviews on Zomato are likely given by people who do not understand good food. My wife and I have been coming here for many years and the food has always been terrific. The service has always been impeccable and a very friendly environment.
I had heard from family friends that this restaurant's Nem Nuong is famous, and boy did it live up to its name! Great flavour, and the fish sauce provided was not watered down like many places are these days. My wife had a bowl of pho and the meat to noodle ratio was very good. I find most pho restaurants give way more noodles than meat. Service was fast! Food was served about 5-10 minutes from ordering. Decor was simple yet appealing. Will definitely come again whenever I'm in town.
At first glance, this place isn't much to look at as it's small and a little cramped. Going in however, I appreciated how clean it was both upstairs where the customers eat, as well as downstairs where the washrooms were. Most importantly though, our food was incredible. I had a bun dish (vermicelli noodle salad) with bbq pork. For less than $6 (or was it $7? I can't remember), I had a huge bowl of noodles, extremely fresh vegetables and herbs, and pieces of bbq pork that were cooked to perfection. It was the finest bun dish I had ever had. The service was just fine but somewhat indifferent. However, I could honestly care less about that as I'm there to eat, not there to make friends. I would definitely come here again.
Good food, but portions could be heartier. Service is bad, but the good food is worth the torture. Everything is pretty much expected.
I’ve been really addicted to Vietnamese foods lately so I decided to try out the small family run Vietnamese Restaurant “Anh Dao” on Spadina. I’ve heard around that this place was famous for it’s Nem Nuong (BBQ Pork Sausages) so I decided to try it out. Turned out to be the best sensation my taste buds have ever experienced! Vegetables and herbs came in a bunch which was soooo crisp and fresh! I also ordered the Grilled Shrimp on Sugar Cane which was also very tasty in the wrap and the Vietnamese pancake that turned out to be crunchier then I expected (thumbs up for that!). Really good hands on-food experience and will most definitely come back when I’m feeling creative and hungry!
