• This was the worst restaurant experience I have had in years. The service was terrible and the food was tasteless and over-priced. We waited 45 minutes for our meals to come. One of the women in our party had to ask for her food to go because it took so long to come that her lunch hour was over. Further, we were all to get a coffee with our meal and despite the fact that we all asked not one of us received one. At the end of the meal I expressed my unhappiness to the manager, and he was very short with me, and told me that I was wrong, and that I was being rude to him!! He went even further to say that all we did the whole time we were in the restaurant was complain, and the servers were all talking about us. Our server said that if we wanted faster service we should go to McDonald's. Not only did we receive bad service, and bad food, but we were also verbally harassed by the staff. This is unacceptable. I worked in the Restaurant industry for many years, and if anybody working for me had behaved this way they would be looking for another job. Not to mention the fact that if a customer has a complaint you try and make them happy and rectify the situation, not tell them that they are wrong. My advice to you is this; if you're looking for a good Italian restaurant, keep looking, because this place is not worth your time or money.
I took my husband to Napolis for his 40th birthday after hearing such great things from friends and family. The service was impecable, the owner helped us pick out a beautiful bottle of wine and was very knowledgable. On request the server reccommended their favorite meals to better help assist us with our food choice of many options. We started with delicious shrimp in a gourmet amaretto sauce, smoked salmon with a dill caper sauce on crostini. We had mixed green salads to start that were incuded with the entrees, the dressing was homemade perfection. I had the pollo pancetta in a light creamy garganzola sauce accompanied by sauteed vegtables and a risotto cake, which was honestly the perfect finishing touch. My husband had the Tenderloin, he said it was flavorful and marinated to perfection. We were too full for dessert but our server brought out a piece of in house tiramisu with a candle on it for my husbands birthday. We had a wonderful night, I would recommend Napolis to everybody, family run does really make a difference, you get something extra special!! VERY HAPPY!
I have been coming to this establishment for eighteen years and not once have I ever encountered the problems stated in reviews below. Napolis is one of the only establishments i've ever been too where you can always count on your food to be good and hot! and if you ever find a problem the staff will do there best to make you happy. The owner Bassel is a great host and never fails to make you feel at home! I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant what so ever which has prooven why they've won restaurant of the year seven years in a row!
Here was the email sent by the owner, He never addresed the non service or the long wait for food! It's the customers fault! People like your self will never be happy. I just read your previous email for the first time, and for a person to actually time there food from the time you sat down is really weird especially in metric hours. Instead of paying attention to your wife and have some nice conversation while dinning. But instead you kept a time log. Wow!! But the second email simply proves my point on how ignorant people can be. All that because you waited for a while for your food. I think there are much worst thing that can happen than having to wait. Have your self a great day! And i'm sorry after being in business for 20 years in Stittsville we must be doing something right and being the best!
I read the post three down from this one and realized that my wife and I had the same experience. I figured that the owner on duty (Bassel Khalil) was a complete pompous _ _ _ in our case too! After he sat us down, my wife had to go to the bar and request drinks! Same with ordering our meals. Service was slow and non existent! All the servers were just hanging out at the kitchen area talking in stead of working. We finally left after 45 minutes waiting for our meal. The owner was rude and ignorant, talked down to me! Stay away from this over priced disaster of a restaurant! The owner’s ego is high due to the Ottawa Senator players who frequent this place.
