BEST ALL YOU CAN EAT JAPANESE BUFFET! the fish was very fresh unlike other buffets i've tried. this place is really worth your money! they also have a different variety of foods you can try as well which are all very good! service was not too bad since i didn't go on a weekend so over all it was a great dinner experience. anytime i'm craving for sushi, i will come here!
I heard about Akina from a friend and was Google-ing the directions to the restaurant when I found these reviews. Some of them said that Akina was the best they'd ever had, but others spoke so lowly of it that I was really worried. I still went though, because I like to try new things. ANYWAYS, the food was really good. The service was fast; we ordered what we wanted and after we placed our order, the dishes just kept coming and coming, faster than we could finish them. When we first sat down the table hadn't been wiped down yet, but once the waitress came to give us our utensils, napkins and tea she noticed right away and we didn't even have to say anything. The one thing though that I want to add (and I might sound cheap for saying it) is that our total came to $29.50. We paid $30 cash and waited after the waitress came to pick it up to get our $0.50 back. The tips are already included in the bill, so technically speaking we should have got change. That they assumed that we didn't want it back is the point that kind of ticks me off. Even if it was only $0.50, it shouldn't have been assumed. Overall, it was good, but it was only my first time. Who know what'll happen next time.
We went for an after work dinner. It was busy because the variety of food they offered, i don't blame them that you have to wait. After we were seated, we ordered right away and it was fast. We finished quickly and we waived a waitress over and she took our order right away. Again, they delivered within minutes. Unlimited Pop. Sashimi is fresh and delicious. We loved the beef with green onions or beef with mushrooms. Shrimp tempura: i think we ate the whole kitchen. We have been to a lot of All-U-Can-Eat but this is the top of the list. We will come back again and again. Don't believe bad service. Servers to tables are tops!
Despite some negative reviews, I took my chances and tried this place out. I went on a Monday night and it wasn't that busy (about 12 other tables). I found the server to patron ratio to be very high. We got our food orders right away and portions amazing. All the food was fresh and I was able to request for specific portion sizes given that we were only 2 people. I found they paid attention to small details and the menu had an abundance of variety.
A lot of ppl are pretty stubborn when it comes to all you can eat sushi places. Like calpico said, order as much as you can in as few orders as possible. Waiters can't tend to each party constantly, if you order small portions. Imagine having 5 waiters and 30 parties...now each party orders only 2 things each time...wonder why the service seems so bad... With that in mind, what i found to be the best for me and my party is to order every possible dish that we want in the first order...basically, we are trying to get full on our first order. Judge your appetite, and if you are still hungry...order more when the last of your dishes have arrived. This ensures that you have a waiter ready to take your order. Now that you know how to order from a japanese all you can eat restaurant...you will actually see that the service is actually excellent. Love the food, love the variety, love the service.
