Excellent food. Great ambiance. Friendly service. Warm and welcoming - this is our favourite restaurant!
I am the Newset Waitress and I love the people/ friends that come in. I never get told anything but positive about their experience there. Love seeing everyone week after week. Try it for yourself. See you soon
The food used to be quite good, and the service was excellent at times. But the place seems to be falling apart recently. The service staff was unattentive, forgetful and rude. The wings were cold and dry, the steak overcooked, the chicken soggy and the coffee tasted like it was three days old. We were overcharged on the bill and had to argue with the waitress about it. The owner was sitting at the bar, drinking (as usual) and looking greasy and unkempt (as usual). The washrooms were absolutely filthy with overflowing garbage cans (ladies and mens rooms).
Barhead is as close to "cheers" as I have found. The minute you walk in the door they make you feel like part of the family and believe it or not after the second time I went there they did remember my name. The food was great they always have a wonderful specials menu but its hard to beat good old wings and fries. There fries are the best too there not just frozen they are fresh cut and cooked to perfection
Returned to the Barrhead recently for a third time. The food has been better each visit though service is slow. We go there more when the excellent jazz guitarist is on site but if the food keeps on improving we will go at other times. Warm fire and low lighting in dining room made for a pleasant setting. Do not miss the wonderful trifle when available.
I have no idea how this woman still has a business. Every time I have visited the Barrhead the owner has been knee-deep in pints as well as her husband. An absolute ludicrous way of running an establishment. They boast of fresh, local food but after a grimey bathroom experience and sneaking a peak in the kitchen; I saw frozen bags of food EVERYWHERE.
What a mix of "great' and "strange"! No menus available, and seemed to be serving only appetizers unless you wanted hamburgers and corn on the cob. Was this a barbecue? Picnic tables on the patio were hard to sit on BUT the jazz guitar was excellent, and the blueberry trifle outstanding. We will go back whenever there is quality music.
This place used to be a fighter/biker hangout with some atmosphere; the owners have tried to primp the image, but now it's just boring. Except for the tables overlooking the crick. Food is straightforward burgs and other predictable freezer-dependant entrees, with good real chips.
not as bad as that man made it out to be. maybe he went on an off night. great service, bubbly staff, and my meal was excellent.
Absolutely brutal service, amosphere and food quality. Please don't go!
