Fantastic , where else can you find a chef who even makes his own pastry not to mention the pie, most places this stuff comes out of a freezer, staff are friendly and helpful. Cheers
There was a bit of a wait, but that is to be expected. The portion sizes were large, the original menu was delightful and the food all melted in your mouth. Fantastic experience!

Atmosphere was great, hostest was kind of slow so that was fine, food came out quick. food was def great, sirloin was cook to the perfection that i wanted, ceaser salad had chunky bacon bits, which was interesting because I've never had chunky bacons in my salad in other restaurants.., and oh man u gotta love the Stilton, its soo creamy and so delicious, soo over all its a two thumbs up, and i will def come back again.

This place describes itself as a "gastro pub", and that is completely accurate. Like any pub, they have servers who will take your order and bring you roughly what you asked for. If they forget you for a while, or make a mistake, you can easily find them (or somebody else) and get what you want. Unlike most pubs, the food is worth eating. Go with those expectations, and you will not be disappointed.
They have a large list of local and micro-brewery beers, and a fairly short menu that has upscale pub or bistro food. All three of our meals were good -- duck confit, lamb cassoulet, and chicken pie with caesar salad.
In summary, the food was good and the beer was good. That's more than I can say for most places.
I was pleasantly surprised. I had read the reviews onthis site and I wasn't sure if we should try it out. We thought it was great. Good service, excellent food and a cozy atmosphere. A great addition to Guelph Restaurants!
