Four friends with very different backgrounds came together over one shared interest – personal well-being. Thalia Hartson, Jennifer Wankiewicz, Tamara Eder and Karena Toy had talked for a while about opening a business dedicated to health and wellness and, in 2015, River Stone Massage & Wellness became a reality. “It was partly that we were interested in massage but we were also interested in a wellness clinic so that we could focus on health and well-being,” says Jennifer. “We could expand our offerings to encompass that entire field so it would give us a blank slate to build what we wanted.”
River Stone Massage & Wellness is an all-in-one wellness clinic. It combines massage and acupuncture with elements from physiotherapy and natural health in order for their clients to feel refreshed, relaxed and pain-free. “We opened by focusing on therapeutic massage but we are expanding into other areas such as acupuncture and Kinetic Chain Release,” says Thalia. “We also have an interest in nutrition and wellness coaching, and we hope to be expanding into these areas.”
