Annie Cole, founder and owner of Muttley Crüe, spent many years working for other groomers and doggy daycare facilities, but knew the industry needed to change. Along with her passion for dogs, she also loves nature, so she opened a dog service business that is friendly to both. “We’re the first facility of our kind in North America to be eco-friendly and sustainable,” says Annie. “We compost all of our dog hair, recycle everything we can and we work with Bullfrog Power, a green energy provider to ensure we’re powered with 100 per cent renewable energy. We’ve managed to get out waste down to about one per cent, so we’re not leaving that much of a footprint.”
Muttley Crüe doesn’t just do things differently from an environmental perspective, they also care for the dogs differently from most daycare and grooming facilities. “We work in front of floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows, so it’s like working in a fishbowl,” says Annie. “It’s an open-concept and kennel-free facility. We don’t crate unless the owner requests it, so the dogs come in and can just hang out.”
Go grrreen, and take your dog to this organic pet spa, where they'll be fluffed and brushed and washed with eco-friendly products. Muttley Crue also offers boarding services, and you can have your pet groomed and pampered while you’re away. Staff members are very friendly and love animals, so your pets will be in great hands.
