Calgary’s go-to newsstand for hard-to-find magazines and newspapers, the small shop on 17th Avenue Southwest stocks more than 4,000 magazine titles including a number of foreign-language titles in Croatian, French, German, Italian, Serbian Spanish and more. The shop is jam-packed with racks of categorized magazines and newspapers. The Daily Globe is the only place many of these can be found within the city.
Giving the store a classic newsstand feel, owner Navaz Asaria also carries a selection of European chocolate, confectionary items as well as specialty cigars and tobacco products. “People like that they can come here and buy their favourite magazine and their favourite treats,” he says.
