I’m 1997 I bought a dog from the humane society that was sick I took her to PPH and had her tested for parvovirus, she tested positive. I was advised that my dog would require treatment up to 5 days. I explained I was in between jobs, and couldn’t afford the cost. Dr. McD told me to bring her in and they would treat her for free!!! 4 daily trips to PPH. These people care about animals and it isn’t about the money. I now take my 3 Moose, Maggie and Samantha and nothing has changed .. ❤️ Gwen Read more

Sherbrooke Heights has been our vet of choice for the past 13.5 years and we are very pleased with the quality of care and the compassion showed to us over the years. Having a pet is one of the most rewarding investment that you can make, but it can also be one of the hardest decisions you have to make. Unfortunately a dogs lifespan is alot shorter than humans and so it is inevitable that you will have to say goodbye before you are truly ready to let your fur baby go. Read more

"Supporting animal health" since 1976.
Called about my cat (Acer) urinary issue, they booked him in the next day (closest availability), Noticed he couldn’t go in the litter box. I called back an hour later and explained his symptoms became worse. They told me to bring him in immediately and they’ll try to fit him in between appointments. I rushed over 10 min away and they were ready the moment I walked in. They said it was caught early enough and fixed him up in a few hours. (No surgery) Saved me $$ and my pet. Amazing staff. We are not patients at Cavan but our vet was away so had to bring our dog here after another dog attacked us. After waiting untreated at Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic for over six hours, we left and went to Cavan. Upon arrival, we were taken in promptly, our dog was treated and we were sent home with care instructions. The compassion and professionalism shown by Dr. Kalish was second to none. Veterinarians in Claraday ON

Whether it’s time for Fido’s annual visit to the veterinary clinic or only the best veterinarian in town will do for finicky Whiskers, finding veterinarian services in your area for the family pet is a daunting task – especially when choosing among the 6,600 practicing veterinarians in Canada.

Tips to finding veterinarians in Claraday ON

  • Talk to pet owners: Like trying to find a family doctor, the best way to find a veterinarian or a certified animal clinic is to ask around – in this case, ask pet owners in your inner circles about their veterinary needs. Some of the best referrals come from those who have chronically ill pets. Some of the questions you may want to ask pet owners are the following:  How long have you known this veterinarian? How much does your veterinarian charge per visit? What are the costs per treatments and what do they include? Is the staff equipped for emergencies? Compare your notes and you’ll have a good a lead.
  • Hang out in dog parks: Hang out at your local dog park and ask dog owners what they have to say about the veterinarians in their area – chances are you’ll have a better consensus on the different types of veterinarian services you’ll encounter in your neighbourhood.
  • Schedule a visit: Go behind the scenes and get to know a local vet by visiting their facilities. Ask yourself the following: Is the examination room clean and odour free? Is the support staff courteous? In what conditions will your pet be treated?
  • Prepare a list of questions: When you meet a veterinarian for the first time, make sure you explain your pet’s health history. If your pet’s breed or species is particular and needs extra attention, ask the vet which animals they specialise in. You wouldn’t see an eye doctor if your feet were hurting, would you? A quick call to the provincial veterinary medical association can help confirm a vet’s credentials.
  • Veterinary hospital vs. private veterinary clinic: Choosing between the two can come down to a matter of price. You’ll find better prices at an animal hospital but you will not find the same friendly rapport you’ll get from a private veterinary clinic. A Claraday ON veterinary hospital may also be better equipped to take care of a family pet emergency whereas a private veterinary clinic would hold records of your pet’s entire health history for a more accurate diagnosis.
