Magic Hands Coiffure

Magic Hands Coiffure was created by Magda Makeda, a woman who is passionate about the history of black hair. As a young girl, she grew up with an afro, and found that there was a negative connotation surrounding the hairstyle. Today, her motivation is to change the perception that people have towards natural hair.

It is common for women of African descent to perm their hair using chemical products because nappy hair has often being perceived as ugly or un-trendy. Because of her gentle and soft hands when manipulating her friends' hair, Magda  was often referred to as "Magic Hands." Since this nickname was catchy, she decided to use it as her official company name when she opened up shop.
