Motoretta was launched in 2001 by Morey Chaplick and Jeremy Logan. The two were inspired on a trip to Italy when they spotted elegantly dressed Italians riding their scooters through the city. It’s not unusual to get inspired when in Italy; the country is full of art and history, and people have been known to be overwhelmed by the experience. Something akin to this happened a few years back when Morey Chaplick and Jeremy Logan paid a visit; the pair were enthralled by scooter culture and the sight of hip, well-dressed men and women driving around Italian streets on Vespas.
In fact, the two were so inspired they decided to bring scooters and the look that comes with them to Toronto. The result was Motoretta, a modern scooter shop appropriately located in Little Italy since 2002. If you want to look and feel like you are in a Fellini film or starring in Roman Holiday, Motoretta is a good place to start.

“Scooters are a practical thing,” says Doug Goss, managing partner at Motoretta since 2008. “They’re great modes of transport for errands around the city.”
Essentially a small simple motorcycle, scooters are easy to run and operate. Vespas are the classic, their name practically synonymous with the machines. But there are lots of other brands and more modern styles. You can find these as well at Motoretta, which also sells motorcycles—many of them also of the old-school style.
Can't give lower than a one star. Sold my wife a scooter that was totally unsuitable for her needs after assuring us it had the power required . Scooter was a moving roadblock. We sold at a dramatic loss. Have never purchased anything from them (or Honda) since; and am constantly warning people from doing business with them.
Absolutely dreadful place to go - don't do it! Ordered incorrect parts for my motorcycle, did not tell me until they installed it - now I have mismatching levers. Manager's words "I can hardly tell the difference, so I doubt you will". I paid for both new levers and ordered a specific one, but it was not given to me. They also damaged the lever upon installation (scratches). Parts did not come in for almost two months, when they assured me it would arrive within the week.
