Oh boy! Where do i begin? This restaurant, formerly Mondo, then The Green Mansion and know Prego is just a terrible experience from apps to mains. We didn't get to the dessert..after reading the menu for desserts, the first being vanilla ice cream (huh??) but the meal..the apps and mains were horrible. The salad was so overdressed and vinegary to the point of being inedible.Lettuce from a bag and tomatoes that were more white than red...no taste. The portion was waay too much...enough to feed a small army. The Lobster Bisque was ghastly and had an off taste. I could not eat it after a few sips. I've had Lobster bisque many times and this was by far the worst. I felt ill all night. Now the mains. Husband got the Pasta with chicken and mushrooms. Tasteless and pasta was too al dente. My gnocchi was ..well, the worst and i can say to you to never never order this dish. It was like hard lumps of heavy dough with a yucky orange-y sauce. It said on the menu 'Parmesan, asiago, Gorgonzola and some other cheese, yet i could detect none of these flavors. Instead the hard lumps of heavy dough were doused in a sickly thick, orange, gloppy gluey mess.Tasted like Kraft Dinner sauce and Cheez Whiz mixed together. I ate one, then two and felt ill the rest of the night. Just revolting! Gnocchi is always tender and almost melt in your mouth. These were obviously from a package that you can get at the supermarket. The waitress was very nice and understanding, replacing my gnocchi with roast chicken, potato and veg. The chicken's skin, instead of crispy was soggy and the meat tasted bland and a tad too moist. I was afraid to eat it. The potatoes were the only saving grace, but a tad bland., no seasoning. The green beans and red and orange peppers were too crunchy and undercooked. Not edible, unless you were using as crudites. Overall, i would say it was a dreadful, disappointing evening. The waitress had wine knowledge thankfully. The waitresses were all wearing black tennis shirts with the logo. For the prices of this so called fine dining restaurant , it would have been nice if they were not dressed for a pub. I'm just being honest with my review and sorry to have to give this a bad rating. When Mondo was there i had a great meal. Too bad for Prego. Just so disappointing. Will never come back. Waste of money, which was a tad overpriced for the quality. I wish i could have said positive things...but there were so few.
This was one of the worst overpriced meals I've ever had. There was nothing special about any of the food that anyone in our group had. In fact, it was very, very ordinary. The brownie for desert looked and tasted like dried out brownie mix. The mixed green salad looked like it was dumped right out of a bag of grocery store pre-made salad with nothing else added to it and not nearly enough dressing - no taste. Terrible waste of money. I will never recommend this restaurant or go back to it.
Food is competently prepared but is nothing special. Wildly expensive for what you get. A lot of high scale restaurants have come and gone in this location. This will be another.
I like the place, but I don't care to overpay for a glass of wine. The prime rib was good, and so was the New York striploin. Overall a great place to burn your hard earned cash.
