We absolutely loved this place. We were looking for a table on the patio, but when we arrived it was full. One of the waiters came out to us and told us that he could have a table ready for us in two minutes...and he did. Our waiter was a very nice young man who catered very well to us. The yorkshire pudding was out of this world. Just like homemade. The staff were quick and very courteous. Can't wait to go back again.
Our waitress was extremely rude and curt, service was rather slow - took us about 20 minutes after being seated to finally order our food. They stuck our table in a corner where no one could see us so I actually had to raise and wave my arm to get somebody's attention... which didn't help our waitress' attitude much.
This is the problem with the automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 8+. These people have no reason to work for your tips so they just ignore you and give you sub-par service the entire time.
I would only go back for the generous portions and I do like me some good bangers 'n mash every once in awhile.
