A feast for the senses, this open and airy Queen Street gem focuses on modern comfort food and features a pedestrian menu of mostly slow-roasted, braised dishes along with sandwiches, salads and fries. The Cameron’s Brewery beer-braised crispy pork cheeks are to die for; the art on the brick interior walls, courtesy of MJG Gallery, is stunning; and the best seat in the house is, well, everywhere.
“The cooking style is slow roasted cooking,” explains owner Sam Scanga, who opened Braised on Queen Street East in 2014. Of course, roasting is a cooking style that’s been around forever. Sam has simply decided to turn the oven up a notch.
