So as an Anime lover I always had in mind to eat sushi, and i wont like took me 6 tries before i finaly knew what i likedXD I tried many different places, but Osaka is the one I will forever go to...unless im kidnapped by friends who like that other place at the four corners... Anyways, the service is really good, specialy this one guy always remembers me and my two best friends everytime we go there, always with a big smile and happy to serve us. Of course there are times we get stuff that we didnt order, or a few rare times they forget one item out of the bizillion stuff we order lol but thats fine. my favorite is the spicy salmon handrolls, honestly, best ive ever tasted! its yummy and crunchy <3. the one at four corners is yucky and they dont even have any of the tempura to add the crunch...no likeXD Anyways, they always have the best tasting food, and even their rice is the best, the other sushi restaurents ive tried where just...yuk and tasted funny which somewhat ruined my food, but osaka, always gets it right. I would legit want to live there just to eat sushi everyday . I love them, and i feel bad for those snooty brats that expect their food quickly, this isnt a fast food restaurent, the art of sushi is special. and sure some of their servers have a hard time with english, but doesnt mean you have to give them a hard time, be nice and patient with them. Im french and my english isnt that perfect but people can still understand me. So as long as you understand each other, no need to criticize. I know its random but i also love leaving anime drawings for them, it makes then smileXD i love it
i loveeeeeeeeee sushiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii LOL,,The only thing i would complain about is how slippery the floor is,,,i dont know if its cause by the steam, grease or whatever,,but,,its like a skating rink and hard to walk on especially when i walk using a cane,,,beware not to slip
Well well well...seems Osaka has made some very nice renovations! Their floors are still slippery though, which I can predict will be an issue come wintertime. Moving along. The food here is 9 times out of 10 AMAZING! Of course it's a fast paced all-you-can-eat joint, so don't expect the world from this place. That being said, I always leave here STUFFED! Their menu is very vast and accommodating to those who don't like the raw stuff. Rolls are always excellent, tempura is yummy and they give you the biggest portion of Edamamme in town! Service is also hit and miss and obviously there is a language barrier here that gets very frustrating at times. All in all, OSAKA RULES! Best bang for your buck, and GREAT FOOD, and now a really nice atmosphere!
To all the haters-puh-lease! I first want to defend the service against some of the nasties out there...yes, there is a little bit of a language barrier sometimes, but always there are smiles and an earnest desire to be helpful! This, to me, should be seen as a Japanese fast food experience; not ultimately gourmet sushi (very Westernized and scaled-down selection) but the selection of more than 120 items caters well to fish eaters, non-fish eaters, non-sushi eaters, and now Thai fans can indulge a little too! This is a great place to bring a book or some paperwork, and linger over a loooooooooooong lunch; since everything is made to order, you're forced to slow down & relax a little if you're like me and enjoy taking your time in deciding what you want to eat throughout your visit. The seaweed salad is sesame-seasoned, simple deliciousness, and I wish it was available for lunch; rolls are consistent and fresh, tempura is light and crispy, tea is free and a delight to cleanse the palate with. If you're a "sushi snob," this is not the place for you, but if you're like me and you can appreciate places like this at face value, go for it-you'll not be sorry!
People need to get used to this new process of ordering small amounts of all kinds of food. This is not a buffet. You just have to eat what you order or you pay extra. Its a fun and exciting way to try your old favorates and new taste experiences. It's not all fish and its not all raw. A wonderful array of all kinds of Japanese foods served in a simple and straightforward manner. Its all you can eat not fine dining at the Ritz.. So much to choose from and enjoy, there was nothing there I didn't like. Don't let the confusion of the servers bother you. I often eat what comes knowing I didn't order it, I think it is part of the fun. I've been many times and will be there tonight for my birthday with 12 or so of my closest friends. Fun times.
I love it here!! I come at least once a week if i can! Very friendly staff...little bit of a language barrier but i dont mind. Reasonable prices...i usually only come for lunch because i dont order anything from the dinner menu anyway. Green tea ice cream is awesome! i want to buy a tub! The only thing i dont like is how dirty the menu's are! every time i go my menu is always sticky...ew!
We went to Osaka Sushi the other night for dinner. Lets start with when we first were greeted. We told them 2 of us wanted the buffet, the third person wanted to see the prices as they were not sure if they wanted the buffet. We got 2 menus, neither had prices. Since we never did get a price list, the 3rd person in our party decided to have the buffet as well. We did not want any surprises when it came time to pay the bill. We were seated at a table that had 4 chairs, but only 2 place settings. We asked for a third place setting and it took them 10 minutes to bring it, actually we had to ask 2 different waitresses in order to get the extra setting. The restaurant was not busy so we know that was not an excuse. When asked half way through our meal for more napkins, they brought exactly one napkin. Were the three of us expected to share it???? We asked for salt and pepper and they had no clue what we were talking about and eventually wandered away. When we ordered, the waitress looked at us and informed us rather rudely that if there were left overs then we would be charged extra. Chicken wings were so small they could have come from a baby chick. Over all most of the food was ok, but in our opinion, there is no way it was worth the $19.99 a person, especially based on the service. None of us will go there a second time.
This place is a welcomed addition to my list of favourite restaurants. Whether you decide to loosen your belt for the all-you-can-eat option or take out, this restaurant has satisfied my sushi craving more than once. Also in addition to sushi, my not-so-riske fiance tried their udon noodles and was pleasantly surprised. This was his first encounter with Japanese food and he didn't "hate" it. The best part of the all-you-can-eat option is that you can try a number of dishes, and enjoy an entirely new experience each time you go. We tryed Edamame, fried dumplings, tempura eggplant and sweet potato, shrimp skewers, sashimi, sushi and the red dragon. Each were very delicious and filling.
This restaurant is a newcomer to the Sudbury sushi scene, making a good entry and introducing competition to be reckoned with. The restaurant is a bit sparse and cool. The food makes up for it at set lunch and dinner prices. It is all you can eat after all. I'd suggest you try the Green Dragon, a nicely done roll. Decoration of the food is kept to a minimum. The taste overall is good even though I can taste a difference in the type of salmon used. Service can be disorganized when it is really busy. (and that is not uncommon on the weekend) The staff doesn't appear to use table zones and you may be asked several times by various waitresses for your order. They are trying hard however. A nice detail is that the staff acknowledges regular visitors extending a welcoming feel to the guests.
