Great food. It's always a pleasure to come eat here.
This was our second visit to Fazios, and it met with our expectations yet again! One of the reasons we like Fazios is that it has a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff and servers are personable and friendly. However service can be slow at times. It took over 10mins for our server to acknowledge us and hand us our menus - which didn't make sense as the place was only just starting to fill up. But from that point onwards, the service we recieved was attentive and great. We just love the bread and chili dip that they serve at the beginning....the bread is nice and warm, and the chili dip is something different from what you get at most places You can't go wrong with the food! We ordered the calamari and mussels to start - both were quite good. The calamari had a corn-flour batter, which was different, and was quite tender. The mussels were a bit on the tiny side, but they were very flavorful. For our mains, we both had the day's specials, which was a veal covered with mozzarella, topped with shrimp, alongside pasta in a white wine sauce. Again, very flavorful without being heavy or too starchy. We didn't order wine or dessert, so our bill came up approximately $115, which included the tax and tip...not bad for a great dinner!
This was my first visit to this restaurant and they made a great first impression. An EXCELLENT quality upscale restaurant without draining the wallet. I dined there Feb 10 2011 evening with my wife and 10 year old daughter. We started with a calamari appetizer which was mouthwatering. For mains, I had the rack of lamb, my wife had the frutti di mare - seafood pasta and my daughter had the spaghettini. Food was prepared very well. I am a big fan of rack of lamb and order it whenever I see it on the menu. This ranks as the best I've had. It was roasted to my exact med-rare specification, and had just the right texture and flavour. The three of us ended up sharing our meals so we could all sample the different dishes. We did not have room for dessert this time, which will be something to come back for next time. My daughter who is notoriously picky loved her pasta and would not let us leave without taking home her leftovers. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
