This place is by far the BEST Restaurant I've ever eaten in!!! and here's why;
1- Unless your extremely hungry, the home cooked portions are so big, you can barely finish, so in most cases there's left overs for the next day.
2- No one in the city comes close to giving you that much food for that price, because no one has this kind of turnover!
3- Everything , even the bacon bits are real, nothing is from a can, the soups are home receipies, and the place is so busy that the food can be any fresher!
4- The servers might be a little on the old side, but you still get your meal faster than any other restaurant I ve ever been to!
5- The seats are real leather, ive seen them watering the plants, and you can custom tailor every part of your meal to suit even the pickiest of eaters.
NOTE they've been in business for over 40 YEARS !
If your curious why, you should check it out! you wont be disapointed!
A restaurant frequented by my father but I will encourage him to go else where in the future.
Seafood Chowder very good, Caesar good but made with artificial bacon bits.
Lamb chops yuck taste was only the oregano and roast potatoes were more like boiled, veg mush.
Three out of six thought the french fries were good.
Chocolate sundae okay but where was the cherry? Cake good. Bloody Mary.........boring was there vodka?
SERVICE very bad!!! ....and not the first time experience for my Father with this server.
I've eaten in all the top restaurants in the city, Food is my passion, I love to eat, and I love variety. I have never come across a restaurant that compares to Windfields. They have a huge menu, and Ive tried every dish because when I first started eating there each time I ordered a meal it was better than any other palce I've eaten that dish! Even places that specialize in certain cuisine.This place is an unbeleivable gem!! But I get the impression alot of people realize this because I see alot of the same faces.This is a must for anyone who loves to eat great food, pay minimal prices, and have great service. You would be doing yourself a diservice if you didnt give Windfields a shot.

Rack of Lamb: Ordered Rare - Excllent! Way over expectations for what you'd expect from this price level.
Souvlaki: The Tender pieces were very good. A couple pieces were a little bit dry but I find Pork Souvlaki generally is.
Wings: Massive fat wings w/ lots of meat. Done very well. Crispy but not too crispy.
Service: "diner style" service but very thoughful for the kids, quick, and attentive.
Ambience: well, what can you say - would fit very well as the scenery for a typical dining room of a 1980's summer resort for working families. Which is one of the reasons why the quality of the food is such a big surprise. Also lots and lots of old people on the night I went that I believe were regulars - not that I have anything against old people but there were so many that somethin' in the food is appealin' to them. Probably the price/quality ratio - which is appealing to me too!
Ive been to this restaurant over probably 30 times this summer and 50 times in my life. Even though it is a family style Greek restaurant, they have THE BEST WINGS IN TORONTO. All their Greek food is amazing too but I specifically go there for the wings.

The food is always good & hearty. The bill is always a pleasant surprise - I often wonder how they can do it for the money.
Only quibble- the carpet needs a really good clean - from lots of traffic!
If you order one of the daily 4-course specials, expect to leave stuffed!
Good beers & wines, too.
