Executive Stereo

Music has been a passion of Ed Stone's since his teenage year when he learned to play his first instruments. "I've been involved in music all of my life, starting out playing in bands in high school,” says Ed, owner of Executive Stereo on Avenue Road. “Then, I developed an interest in the actual recording of it, leading me to buy my first recorder and mixer to record some bands.” After going off to university, he realized he wasn’t happy with his studies. “I applied to some recording studios and one of them was able to offer me an entry level position...Six months later, I was working with the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart and other big name stars."

As he grew older, Ed became wearier of the recording industry. "My passion was still strong, but the industry had changed. I grew tired of recording and mixing commercials and jingles, so I decided to get out of it. For a while, I worked outside of the industry, then one day I was talking to a chap who operated a small stereo store that he was hoping to sell so he could retire, and seeing my musical background, he thought I would be the ideal candidate to be the new owner. After a few months, Ed bought the business and the rest is history.
