Been going to the Saucer for years. Consistently great food and service. Love the turkey sub!
I love the flying saucer the food the atmosphere the service the price are all a 4 star for me the only thing i dont care for is the washrooms being located downstairs and the steep stairs and at times not the cleanest ive been going to the flying saucer since i was a kid and will continue to dine there
Terrible customer service.
Amazing chilli fries, reminds me of the 80's
Dirty cutlery, rude staff and lousy food , how has the health board not shut them down?
They moved my 7 year old nephew to a different table while I was in the washroom. I come out and Bamn! I'm about to flip. We had asked for a table and chairs not a booth. As a result we ended up leaving. They said our table was reserved and all they had were booths. I had to pack our food and leave. I refused to pay for drinks we couldn't have and they threatened legal Action! For $1.89! Once we got home we went to eat our take out and it was Disgusting! It went straight into the trash.
Flying Saucer Restaurant is the best!
Went for a late night brunch. Very unpleased with the service we recieved. Waited over an hour for our food, 2 tables came in after and still were served before us. Our waitress was absolutely dreadful. Never came around and was extremely rude and unprofessional. We got tired of waiting the food was unappealing so we decided not to eat it ans juat pay the bill and left. She took no meal off our order even though we didnt even touch the food. We paid with debit as we were walking out i felt bad so i said thank you anyway to our server.. Big mistake. She commented back obbiously not bye in a very rude tone. I will never eat thwre again. If you get a waitress with blondish orange hair, glasses and freckles ask for a knew server. She was terrible
Ordered chicken fingers and fries delivery and mushroom caps. Mushrooms were ice cold and the chicken fingers had pieces so hard I almost broke a tooth trying to bite into it. Couldn't even cut it with a knife. Asked for money back. Delivery guy brings be 5$ out of a $9.99+tax meal. Calls the restaurant. I barely even ate one finger and it didn't even taste like chicken besides the hard pieces. Demanded my full refund and she hung up on me. Worst handled customer complaint I have ever seen. Poor food and poor service. I'll never eat there again. And I used to love this place. I don't even want to give it one star but I have to to submit this.
There is something special about Flying Saucer Restaurant! Flying Saucer Restaurant is best!
went for breakfast. Service OK. food OK. ambiance OK. cleanliness low. a bit more expensive than the available all you can eat buffet but a better breakfast experience. Will not go again cause there is to much to explore.
Food was simply great, generous portions and the servers are all friendly and accommodating. I have food allergies and the waitress was very understanding! Nice to be comfortable and treated like any other customer. THANK YOU!
Great good reasonable price!
After driving by it a few times, we decided to try it out. Since the exterior looks like a flying saucer, I expected some kind of a Jetson's-themed dining experience, or throwback to the 1950's World Fair. Instead, it was a straight up diner inside, kind of like Frans in Toronto but the food and service are not as good. Depending on where you are seated, you can peer directly into the preparation area which does looks not clean or appetizing. The usual cleanliness issues too - tables sticky with pop, ask waitress to wipe it off she does so with a dirty towel. Burger and Fries was barely okay. I don't like paying for food at restaurants when I can prepare something like a burger better at home, and for a lot less money. Paying $11 for 6 perogies...really?! It was my friends choice, and he remarked that they were as small as they could possibly be. They get a lot of mileage out of their fantastic exterior. Other than that, its nothing special.
I'm a local to Niagara falls, and i go to flying saucer every once in awhile with my gf, the place is not the cleanest and i heard some bad things about people getting sick after eating there, but I have not, so i still go on occasions. the food is okay, my favourite thing is the lunch special if i recall it's monday to friday and things range from $5.99 to $6.99 for the specials, and i tend to get the bbq beef and cheddar, it's served on a kaiser bun and is a pretty good size, when i got the extra money to blow I upgrade my fries to saucer fries i been eating those since I was a little kid, love them, they are fries with a tasty meat sauce. other things i have had is there ribs once, really expensive and only half of them where good, it was a bit over cooked... i would not bother having them again. unless if the price went down by allot, also had there small little new york style steak thing, it's okay kinda meh. tried there nachos once, but wont bother with them again, i was hoping for like fully loaded with meat sauce and everything like at denny's but they where not. so not worth it. my gf had there BLT before but it was to greasy for her. and there is other things I have had, but over all things are okay. the service is pretty good for the most part, depends who you get, there was this one blond lady i'd say she is the nicest and more pleasant. but she might not be there anymore been 6 months since I was last there. over all i'd say its worth a try. also it tends to be pretty noisy in there depending on how many people are there.
So the flying saucer. The set up is cool. But the food? Not so much. it's very greasy food that is pretty much just thrown together from a package. It's great at 3:00am when you're coming from the bar and want some greasy food to fill your tummy!
I had read Wthat this was a family restuarant and recomended to visiit with kids. THis was my first and last visit. The kids meal comes with a soft drink - if you want milk or juice there is a 50cent surcharge. What parent wants their toddler drinking pop? We waited over 15 mins for someone to come and take our drink orders, but they did take our order when they brought the drinks. We asked for our kids meals ASAP. I have a very active 2 year old that I was trying to entertain and keep quiet as to not disturb other guests, while we waitned for our food. Yes they had crayons but no kids menu or colouring books. No one stopped by the table after our meal was brought to see if we needed anything, but did stop and ask me to stop having my toddler stand on the booth seats as they just had it re-upholstered and the loudness was disturbing other quests. We then had no contact until the brought their slop (aka jello that wasn't jelled and tasted like fridge) and the bill. We didn't leave a tip and I will not be back.
Over the last 10 years we visit the falls,we go to this restaraunt, because we like the idea of being in a flying saucer and everytime we go there it seems to be worse and worse,I dropped my keys beside the booth we were in,and to my surprise when I couldn`t reach them I looked by the wall the filth was beyond dirty,it looked like it was not cleaned in years,I made a point of going to look in the public washroom,as you can tell a Restaraunt by the restroom, lets just say I am glad I never had to go I would sooner go to a dingy gas station, when I mentioned it to our server she laughed it off,the food was barely edible in fact we left most of it and paid the bill and left, the owners/managers should be ashamed of themselves,we will never return but I don`t think they care because if they did care the place would be cleaner and serve better tasting food
As locals, we visit the Saucer frequently. Coffee in a carafe is great, good specials, and the staff get to know you. Have to wait in the summer for a seat. They introduced broasted chicken earlier this yr. & it was top notch. About Aug. the same broasted was smaller and overcooked, frequently. The bathroom is way down numerous steps.
We all enjoyed our food at the flying saucer. The decor is certainly different, but in a good way. It cold use a cleaning, but it wasn't gross either. The kids ordered fish and chips, as well as spaghetti. Their portions were huge! My husband and I were watching the food going to the other tables and suddenly our very good fish and chips seemed to pale in comparison. The place is nothing fancy, but good food for lower cost is always a plus.
