Because I have the original red/white health card and wouldn't COMMIT to paying for it myself they wouldn't do the eye exam....I have been his customer since he first started in the early 80s !!!!
Granted he never got rich off me...but I'm sure there were days when he wondered when the next customer would show up.
My husband ordered two pairs of glasses on June 8. He got the first pair 10 days later, but the second pair, a special order they said (transitions) are still not delivered (August 1). I also wish they had more selections.
The regulated eye care professional measures the PD where you obtain your glasses. In fact, we highly respect your right to purchase glasses elsewhere. However, we would be doing our patients a disservice if we did not caution them about purchasing from unregulated sources. With unregulated internet businesses, unlike licensed optometrists and opticians, there is no professional accountability that this highly complex process is done correctly and safely. At the very least, without an in-person relationship, it is difficult to imagine that unregulated online dispensing would involve proper frame and lens selection. This is vital for safety, optimal vision, comfort and cosmetic appearance. Furthermore, how are adjustments done? Is there verification that the prescription is correct?
