Mel's Diner was the brainchild of my brother Scott and his wife Elizabeth. They opened the University Ave location in 1995. If you came in back then chances are you would have been served by my wife Angela or myself. We worked for Scott and Elizabeth until we bought them out in April of 1999. Mel's was our first baby....followed by three more. The first year we owned Mel's was a crazy one. we got married, bought the business AND had our first child, who is now thirteen and heading to highschool next year. We had two more children over the next four years and we raised them at Mel's! Many of you know them by name as they were always with us. I thought I would include a photo so you can put a face to our names. I think this one is very indicative of our crazy lives. (Photo Cred Alicia Thurston)more...See more text
Hello.
After watching 3 tables get seated after me, I approached the hostess asking why to which she said she called for me and I never answered. She never once came over to the seating area by the door where we were seated but chose to call from her station and completely ignore us.
She continuously made excuses as to why she not once clued in to why we were still waiting to be seated.
Excuses are NOT what's needed in a successful business but a sincere apology and what they can do
