OK food- tasted more like bland but good Chinese food than Thai or Vietnamese. Having said that- most Chinese food in Guelph is atrocious so will go back. Service just Ok
With the recent renovation, a new air seems to have taken over at Red Papaya. Staff was very friendly considering the over-packed tables and several people waiting for a table. Overall, the food was quite good (in particular, the spring rolls seem to have improved and the grilled meat-balls with the Thai fajitas were delicious!). Everything seems to have a home-made feel to it which increases its authenticity. Would definitely go back.
Nice job. We had three servers, so I don't see what previous fuss was about, but I guess that's what floats or sinks a restaurant. Great food, friendly staff. Needs Hockley Dark like the Stone Road location.
The atmosphere leaves something to be desired, and sometimes my drinks come WAY after my meal, but the staff is always friendly and they are super quick and efficient. They make a killer Pad Thai, and yummy shrimp rolls and bubble tea.
The best Thai restaurant ever! The place was jammed pack, but the service was great. The girls worked very hard to accomodate everyone. The food came out fast and delicious. It was our first time to eat at Red Papaya and we're glad we came. The waitress who helped us was very nice and recommended amazing dishes like the spicy peanut chicken and the house pad thai.
