Best breakfast restaurant in Guelph. Real home fries, great service, reasonable prices.
If you enjoy liver and onions, bacon etc. You will never find a better place.
went for a friends birthday and just about walked out! my friend did not hear the sandwich special and asked again and was yelled at that it was already spoken ... another friend wanted to sub in fries instead of soup (she doesnt like fish) as it was a fish soup and was told NO SUBSTITUTIONS, I was going to have the pasta and as I like alot of grated cheese on my pasta was told that the kitchen may not give me extra at the table so I ordered the burger as did my friend that could not get fries intsead of soup with the sandwich.very disconcerting lunch!
My favorite place for lunch.. great food, great service!!! the staff is friendly and its great to have a restaurant that is not a chain in our neighborhood!
We have dined at least 4 times at the Creekside Kitchen. Today my wife and I looked at the on-line menu and decided to order two $14.00 lamb souvlaki dinners for take out. When I picked up the food I was charged $18.00 per meal. I explained to the waitress that it was $14.00 on their website. She said that she understood and would ask the owner if she could charge me the website price. I heard much arguing from the kitchen and the owner said "the website is wrong." The waitress then returned and said that she couldn't charge the lower price. The owner then came out and started lecturing me about 1) how just because the website is wrong doesn't mean that he has to honor the price; 2) why should he pay the web designer to fix the website; 3) if he would honor this price then he might as well just lock the front door. My wife owns a small business. Accordingly we are very strong believers in supporting local firms, but we will not support them when they will not rectify their own mistakes. Considering the fact that there is similar style restaurant located just down the road in Hartsland Plaza and there were no customers in the restaurant at 6:00 on a Tuesday evening, the owner might want to reconsider his take-no-prisoners attitude. It will certainly cost him a lot more than the additional $8.00 that he got from us.
I invited my very elderly father for a father's day lunch at Creekside, having heard great things about the restaurant. Although we were promptly seated, our waitress performed so poorly it became comical. We ordered coffee to start, and when she returned 15 minutes later to take our order, we still were sitting with no drinks. We reminded her while ordering, and off she wandered. 10 minutes later, I approached the other waitress-who appeared to be competent. She brought coffee and cutlery. We then waited 40 more minutes for our food, during which time our waitress wandered aimlessly around, occasionally picked up a cup or glass, and generally looked as if she hadn't one clue what to do while the other waitress tried valiantly to compensate. Our food was never actually delivered by our own waitress. In fact, she never reallly did much of anything at all. Here is the best part: Apparently she is the owner's daughter. Tip to the owner: she's a detriment to your business. While we were eating, another table of 6 got up and walked out after she ignored them for 20 minutes with no greeting or drinks, never mind an order. I doubt I will be back, and neither will my parents.
This is a nice little restaurant tucked away in a strip mall at the corner of Kortright and Ptarmigan. The look and feel of the restaurant is very cosy and intimate. For that reason, I would suggest that you make a reservation on the weekend as there are not a lot of tables. The food is good, prices not cheap but fair...we will return. My only small criticism is the service...waitstaff very nice and were trying quite hard to please...but service was slow and a bit confused, e.g., forgetting to put on coffee, appetizers coming out with main course etc....overall, though, I would suggest you give this place a try if you are in the area.
Great, simple food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly, attentive wait staff. The weak spot is the slow service.
Today I went to Creekside with my family, we were greeted by a very nice, entertaining server Heather.I was not very pleased by the menus,a paper was it.Hopefully, that will change I hope. Our server Heather had seated us,gave us utensils and menus, and offered coffee,we had all said yes,and ordered. It took around 10 minutes for our coffee, which I was quite displeased about, because our server had said that the glasses were not ready. We eventually got it,but Heather had stalled us by asking about ketchup, bringing extra butter pots than needed,a bottle of maple syrup...And when we had arrived, there was only 5 tables who had already received their food.We had to wait 10 minuted before our food arrived, and my brother was on a tight schedule to leave. The food was great-my parents and brother had enjoyed their meal-on the other hand, I wasn't.I ordered the eggs benedict,I must say that they DROWNED the egg with that sauce,to this hour(5:14 PM.I went at 10:00 AM)i still feel it going up my throat. But,it the pancakes are quite exsquised, well done!
What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I went for breakfast Nov 7th. Greeted by Heather and promptly seated. Two large booths at the front and a larger dining area to the right. Nicely decorated. Breakfast orders were filled as ordered and served hot. Good sized portions. Coffee was delicious. We browsed the lunch, dinner and take out menus. Good selection at very reasonable prices. Not too many choices but a really well planned variety. Will definitely return.
