We drove from Toronto to enjoy a 'newfie' meal, seeing that 3 of us are original Newfoundlanders. We were mildly disappointed with the gravy, the fish, the root vegies and the Blueberry Grunt. Not that it wasn't good, but it lacked taste. Traditional Jiggs Dinner is cooked with the beef giving it flavor. The vegies we had had absolutely no taste, but the salt beef was excellent. And the Peas Pudding was missing! The gravy/fries/fish were not the best we've had. The biscuit in the dessert seemed somewhat stale.
The Cod au Gratin was the best of the four meals. Very creamy. Very tasty.
The atmosphere was great and the waitresses were friendly and very helpful. And the restrooms were comfortable and really clean.
I think we'll try a different dish next time we go, and I'm sure we will go again.

The nachos were ok... The chicken club was a grilled chicken that was obviously frozen before hand and although I ate it wasn't a pleasurable experience.

This was a first time here for us & I will assure you it will not be a regular weekly visit!! The food was outstanding, the beer as mentioned was delicious and our server the best I've had in many, many years(pregnet & all bless her heart).
I do feel that if you pass this little place by you have missed yourself an excellent ,well rounded experience!
