This place is disgusting and gross! Our table was dirty. The fish was undercooked and greasy. My son's hamburger was burnt and milk had an expired date on the carton. When I politely asked for another one, I got attitude back like it was too much trouble for them. So much for customer service too. I'll never go back to this dump.
I was there on a Thursday at noon. Had Haddock fish n' chips, small size.
The place is pretty small (sits only 12 at 3 tables) but it was clean. Friendly staff. Rather slow. It took over 20 minutes to get my meal (there were only 3 customers in the place - and we all ordered the same). Seems it should be faster than that?
I ordered the small size and I would call this more a kids size. One piece of fish (as expected) but just a small handful of fries. I would expect more for $8+. So, unless you're a kid - you better order a large. The fries were good (the few that I got).
Fish was crispy and not greasy. Nice. There was a lot of batter so people who like a light batter would not be happy.
We are regulars here! Have been visiting for several years since we live and work close by. Best fish around! But not just the fish. Great homemade angus burgers...fresh fries. Lots to choose from. Usually take out, so tables aren't an issue, but there are only a few tables. Family owned and operated and it's always very friendly service. Terrific value for your money! $5 and $6 lunch menu also available.
Used to be a regular here but moved to Guelph and it was our first time back in quite a while. WOW! It's changed, very warm and inviting little shop and the menu now seems to have been expanded a fair bit. The halibut was as good as I remember it. It's a great reason to come in from Guelph to visit this place.
