When a woman wants to escape the stresses of daily life, she can book a day at the spa. A relaxing massage, manicure, pedicure, or simply a haircut can be enough to make her feel like a million bucks. Kim D’Andrade believes men deserve specialized attention, too. While there are a plethora of spas and salons for women in the city, for men there is The Business: Men’s Grooming Lounge – a shop specifically designed to service the hair, face and body care needs of men.
Kim opened The Business in honour of her father, who passed away in 2006. “I kept going back to the fond memories of him and I spending afternoons together when I was younger and going to his favourite barber shop. Watching him get a wet shave, the hot towels, the lathers, the smells – it meant a lot to me,” says Kim.
Kim knows the impact looking and feeling good has on a man’s confidence. “Looking good leads to feeling good and feeling good leads to empowerment,” she says. “My dad always seemed to be taller and carried himself in a certain way afterwards.”
Cleanliness, punctuality, great atmosphere, service above and beyond and professionalism are the words to describe this business. The owner Kim is always very welcoming to her customers. Always a great experience from the moment that you walk in the door until you leave.
On Thursday, July 21,2017 at 11:30 am I had an appointment at the Business Grooming at 2982 Bloor St. West.
1...The decor is a sultry grey with a white trim. Very comforting.
2...Lounge area is cushy and accents the area.
3...Stylist Csaba young and presentable.
4...Didn't appreciate having my hair dried with a towel that may have be bought from a discount store. Towels should be white and fluffy.
5...The 10% discount should have been applied at that appointment right away not later
Great place. Had great service. Came in muddy from work, the lady at the front gave me a towel to wash my hands with, followed by a cold glass of water. Ado killed the haircut. Looks awesome. Very professional establishment.
Very courteous and welcoming. They definitely make customer service their top priority. My credit card was stuck in the parking meter and one of the barbers took the time to find pliers and helped me get it out. Very happy with the cut too. Would recommend to anyone and definitely will come back.
