I have to say this is a solid Sushi restaurant. Good food, service, atmosphere. HAs something for people that don't like sushi too. Love the staff and their take out is good also.
The sushi is fresh and delicious. I have never had a bad meal here, and I always leave full, and satisfied. The decor is simple and nice, and the dishes have cool patterns on them. Toshi is never a bad choice when you want tasty sushi.
Simply the best. My wife and I come here every weekend. Everything on the menu is amazing. Quality and service is superb. Everything is fresh.
Every few months my wife and I return to Toshi and we always leave feeling satisfied. We order and share 3 or 4 appetizers. They are very good at tempura items and everything else is cooked with skill and care. It is great to have a place we can return to, time and time again and be guaranteed a satisfying meal and good service.
When an all-you-can-shove-down eatery is not what you are looking for, then try Toshi. It's a big more upscale but isn't stuffy. The food is great! Nothing sitting around since the morning waiting for you. The sushi here is delicious. There is a certain care in its preparation that isn't present in the all-you-can-eat sushi. Even something as simple as edamame is better here. The service here is very good, the staff is attentative without being overbearing. Definitely no attitude here, unlike the places that want you in and out as fast as you can say Futo maki. Strangely enough, as long as you not trying to eat your way into the Guiness Book of World Records, the price, after all is said and done, will be slightly lower. The all-you-can-eats have a way of making sure you spend a few bucks.
We got the chicken teriyaki which came with a large serving of noodles. The dragon rolls were smaller than other places but still delicious, as was the sushi.
We ordered take-out since the restaurant was closed. The food tasted great and the ingredients were fresh. My only complaint is that the rolls were poorly assembled. The rolls were falling apart when picking them up with chopsticks. Besides the assembly, everything else was great. Quick and friendly service, and very delicious food. We had spicy salmon rolls, and katsu don.
After reading all the latests reviews, the wife and I took out the kids last night and headed for Toshi. Luckily we got there when we did, the dining area had only a couple of tables left, but the takeout area was jam packed!!! We ordered Tampura, and with the meals came salad with a very nice dressing, Miso soup then the entree, Beef and chicken teriyaki. The flavour of the sauce on the teriyaki was not bad, but no great either, but the portions were huge!!!!! For a good value decent Japanese food, Toshi has my 2 thumbs up!!!!!!
Seen the reviews on here for this place, have been fooled by this site before but not this time. Went in for dinner, friendly greeting, place is very clean, the food is very well priced and the quality is high. I will definetly be coming back here!
We found that the dish prices and serving sizes were confusing. One person with us got a salmon dish, which was in the $15 range, but his serving was way less food than the less expensive teriyaki. I know salmon is more expensive, but it just seemed disproportionate. The beef teriyaki marinated in ginger, etc. was delicious though, and the serving size for this type of dish was generous!
the rolls didn't have much taste and the sashimi pieces were way too small! the only thing that i could say was decent was the tempura. besides that, i didnt find that there wasn't much selection from the menu..
The chicken was in nice large chunks, the teriyaki sauce had a great taste to it, and the serving size for the price was great.
My husband and I have gone to this restaurant over ten times and it is consistently excellent. We really enjoy japanese food and were quite pleased to find such a great gem in brampton (after so many other disappointments with other local restaurants). Every time we go, we mostly order the same items and we still love it. On busy nights, service can be on the slower side, but the quality of the food truly makes up for it. The size of the sashimi orders are quite generous and always delicious. They have the best gyoza (pork dumplings that are soft on one side, and crispy on the other) and the tangy dipping sauce that goes along with it is oh so tasty. I’ve enjoyed the katsu-don on a number of occasions as well their udon noodles. I've also ordered sushi party platters from them and they were a hit with my guests.
Pieces of sushi were large! Very tasty. Came away quite satisfied and with leftovers!
Nice place, only the service is too slow (they should hire more waitresses). Very friendly servers though. My husband and I loved their salad dressing, and their smoked salmon is pretty good. Their miso soup is relly good, very tasty, and their banana tempura with vanilla ice cream is ok. However, I find their sushi really hot for there is a lot of wasabi in it, although my husband loved it.
I lived in Japan for three years and I can confirm that not only is Toshi and his staff actually Japanese...not Korean or something, the food is authentic. This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to outside Japan...pretty good for Brampton! One of my favourite places!
We could not find this restaurant after Shoppers World, just passing by I saw this restaurant, searched the internet and found out it was the food we always wondered about, the best tasting Teraki, went in ate and was so happy to find them again, I live in Oakville, work in Mississauga, and now I am a regular customer again, and telling everyone that we have found the great food again, and cannot wait to order my regualr Wednesday night pick up....Special thanks to Maria at the restaurant...Dianne
food is not bad, considering you're in brampton and the majority of sushi/japanese restaurants and the food prepared are usually not by japanese people anyways. sashimi was fresh and a pretty good variety for a simple combo. tempura was good, but i found that it had too much batter for my taste. service was good, but not totally out there. definately go again, either dine in or take out. minor response to a previous review... who goes to chinatown for japanese food? i'm chinese and i don't even go to chinatown for chinese food.
The food and service are both incredible! We had a fabulous evening, and will definitely be visiting again!
The quality and quantity of food are both excellent. The service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Way to go Toshi!!
