Scott Bagshaw was born in Montreal, and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After earning his BA from the University of Winnipeg, he travelled across Europe, eventually tarrying in his ancestral home of England. Like many a criminal mind before him, he then moved to Australia, where he earned a degree in education from the University of Wollongong. Following a short tenure teaching high school, he was lured back into the kitchen as head chef at Monsoon, a Vietnamese restaurant.
