In 1952, one paid worker supervised the carpentry work of a group of volunteers as they built the 30'x60' Hazelridge Legion Hall. Within time, Legion members wanted to build an addition onto it. The dozen members were unable to raise the funds necessary for expansion, and as it was privately owned, government grants were not made available. So, in 1969, the Legion Hall was sold to the Hazelridge community for the princely sum of $1.00.
