I have visited their restaurant once before and had a nice dinner experience with friends but wanted to enjoy my meal this night at home so I ordered takeout. I had their bacon wrapped chicken which was prepared just right. The bacon was crispy and the chicken very moist. A good helping of yummy mashed potatoes, asparagus puree and an Asian coleslaw so hopefully you like cilantro. The food was ready at the bar for pickup.
The room is outstanding. No questions asked the Rooftop is one of the coolest places in town with numerous outdoor fireplaces and a very innovative indoor/outdoor feel. They gotta work on the service though. Our waiter cleared our side plates and most of our cutlery and then brought the appetizer with no accompanying fresh cutlery or side plates. The waiter never came back so we were forced to eat our flatbread over our hands. My wife's steak was underdone and mine was a touch overdone although nothing to write home about. I also asked for horseradish and none was delivered with my dinner. Our waiter finally checked in with us as I was finishing my last bite and my wife's dinner had long gone cold a little late to bring the horseradish. Not to mention that my wife is no fan of rare juices flowing onto her plate and as result she had lost her appetite. To their credit they did not charge us for my wife's meal but they never brought back any of my wife's accompaniments. My martini was one of the better ones I have had in the city as they actually made it to my specifications: gin, very dry, up, 3 olive. Most bartenders in these types of places insist on poisoning a martini with vermouth no matter if you ask for it dry or not. Overall, it was disappointing. If you are looking for a Keg in the downtown area hit the one on Granville Island.
