Tom van der Pauw, whose family has owned Triple Tree Nurseryland in Maple Ridge for more than half a century, loves coming to work every day because he knows people enjoy coming to shop at his garden centre. “People don’t have to come here — they have fun coming here,” Tom says.
Part of Triple Tree’s service is educating their customers on plants and their maintenance thereby ensuring their gardens blossom. “If customers are successful, they’ll come back,” Tom says. “If you see something grow, that’s pretty exciting.”
Many customers have been coming for decades to Triple Tree and Tom is seeing the next generation coming with their children. But he also sees older customers who have downsized their homes and are no longer gardening but just come to enjoy the garden centre, sometimes walking around for a couple hours. This gives Tom particular pleasure because he knows he’s adding to the quality of their lives.
Hate this place. Everyone must be muzzled and if you have a medical exemption, too bad --- they kick you out of their open air nursery area. Yesterday, it was done rudely.
Love love love this place. It is the best nursery I have ever been to. Such beautiful plants and such a joy to walk through. The staff is so friendly and can always answer all my questions!
Love this place and today reminded me why. Stocked full of all the regular stuff and all the obscure and unique. Organized and easy to navigate. Staff above par! Knowledgeable, keen, helpful and sincere! Dalton a stand out as was the gentleman known as the ‘perrenial specialist’.
Will never ever shop here again, sold low quality product, when I went back, did not take the responsibility of the product. Don't trust this business.
