Dan at Affordable sure knows a lot about vacuums. He has been selling them for over 20 years. He was very helpful to me in choosing a vacuum. He asked questions about where I would be using it and what type of flooring I would be cleaning. I was very happy to find out that he also services everything he sells. That sure beats a trip to the box store out of town where I may have made a purchase and found that it was not working to my liking. I did not find that the store smelled of smoke at all as the previous reviewed noted. I feel good supporting local merchants and will continue to, as to me that's what community is all about.
It is handy to have a business like this in town. I have had them come to my home to fix a built in vacuum twice (stuff stuck in the pipes). It's a one man show, so you have to wait until he's around, but probably cheaper than someone traveling from Nanaimo or Duncan. He likes cash.
They do sell new and used parts and repair vacuums. Last thing I recommended was a horse hair floor tool (end) for my vacuum. It was really wide, and with less air suctioning per cc, it didn't suck up as well as a shorter floor tool. Not too happy about that. Live and learn though.
Now I need a new hose with power head. I'm going to phone around to see who has the better deal. It may or may not be this business.
Oh, be happy not to go in the store - it absolutely reeks of cigarette smoke.
