Mike Clark is no stranger to the stage. As a saxophone player with a longstanding affinity for jazz, he and his band have been a mainstay in Calgary's live music scene for a long time. He was nominated for a Maple Blues Award three years in a row and he's performed or recorded alongside many of the greats in the North American blues and jazz scene. Since the late 90s, Mike has hosted a Saturday afternoon jam session that welcomes musicians from a variety of backgrounds.
In 2007, Mike decided it was time to open his own place and broaden the appeal of the musician-friendly atmosphere he'd been a part of for so long. Mikey's Juke Joint & Eatery was born and it still hosts those memorable Saturday jams.

Mikey likes it, and you will, too, when you head to Sunalta for open mic night at Mikey’s Juke Joint & Eatery. Carla Olive hosts, and a featured songwriter typically opens the night with songs, stories and inspiration before relinquishing the stage to other performers. Registration begins at 8 pm, and the performances go from 9 pm to midnight. Performers, bring your own guitar.
